Back in Brisbane

Well we have settled back in to Brisbane life and here are a few shots of Mia Xiaofei's first days in Brisbane.  On arrival at Brisbane airport on Sat am our good friends who we have known now for 10 years ( Mark and Lou) came to meet us.  It was a very emotional time and lovely to have such good friends meet us on such a special occasion.  I was very emotional arriving home and was thinking of our beautiful baby's new life in Australia.  She coped very well on the long haul from Hong Kong to Brisbane and slept on top of me for the whole journey.  We were  meant to have a bassinet but this never happened and Mia slept solidly for 8 hours which was great.  We treated ourselves to Business class and it was well worth it.  The trip from Shanghai to Hong Kong was a bit stressful as Mia was distressed and feeling the pressure in her ears.

We took her out for coffee at the park on Sunday and she loved it.  She is such a social butterfly.  Monday we took her to brunch at our local cafe and she loved the activity all around her and afterwards took her for a stroll in the park and bumped into some local friends.  It has been a very  nice relaxing weekend and she appears to be settling in well.  We have a cot in her room and one in ours.  She has her naps in her room (9am to 9.45am and 12.30pm to 2.30pm) and has her night sleep beside us (7pm to 7am approx).  That is a grand total of approx 15 hours sleep  - no wonder she is beautiful with all that beauty sleep!  The photo is her sitting with us outside on the verandah having a bbq.  It is chilly at nighttime now so she is rugged up well.    I look dazed in the other photo - it must be all that China Baby Dust in my eyes.  I do feel I am on a bit of a high and love the feeling.  She is so cuddly and cute and has a lovely relaxed disposition and so much fun.  She respond well to us and loves to be tickled and played with.  She loves her food too which goes down well here as we are foodies.  She will get what she needs and wants around here so she has no need to stress.  Better get some sleep so that I am all refreshed for tomorrow for another day in the life of Ms Mia Xiaofei.  We feel so blessed that she has found us and we have found her.
